BAPTIST COLLEGE OF THEOLOGY COMMISSIONS LANDMARK PROJECTS

The Baptist College of Theology, Obinze- Owerri, Imo State, has commissioned legacy projects within the institution. The projects, which were commissioned on Thursday, 16th May 2024, included the gigantic dual-carriage gate with a full complement of a security house and its appurtenances, as well as a massive driveway and drainage network within the College premises.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Board of the institution, Dr. Dawari George, noted the importance of the gate to the institution with scripture reference and commended the Board members, staff, and students of the College for their support to the institution.

Dr. George, a former legislator, while applauding the efforts of corporate bodies and individuals in these significant projects, called on Baptist leaders, captains of industry, top government functionaries, and the clergy across denominations to continue to support the institution in other projects of the College.

Dr. George, who is also the President of the Men’s Department of the Baptist World Alliance, BWA, stated that with the commissioning of these projects, the aesthetics of the College environment and the architecture of the institution have been enhanced. He expressed joy that the event was happening at a time when he was serving as the chairman of the board and said that more of these projects would be commissioned in the coming years.

The high points of the event were the cutting of the tape to unveil the cornerstone by Dr. Dawari George and a prayer of thanksgiving.

Dignitaries from all walks of life attended the epoch event including the Director of the Students and Youth Ministries of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Dr. James Olawuyi, the Acting Rector of the College, Prof. Reuben Chuga, Acting Registrar Hon. Moses Uvie Odeghe, Board and Faculty members, students, and visitors.
